JYSK and Lars Larsen Group donate DKK 2 million to starving and vulnerable children through Danmarks Indsamling

For the 18th consecutive year, JYSK and Larsen Larsen Group support the charity fundraising Danmarks Indsamling by donating DKK 2 million to starving and vulnerable children.

Once a year, 12 humanitarian organisations team up with Danish national broadcaster DR in an effort to collect funds for some of the world's poorest countries. This year, the theme for Danmarks Indsamling is famine and malnourishment.

“At JYSK we are happy to once again support Danmarks Indsamling and the 12 humanitarian organisation’s work in helping starving and vulnerable children across the world. As a large international company, we wish to take responsibility and help wherever possible – including globally”, says President and CEO of JYSK, Rami Jensen.

“The 12 organisations each play a vital role every day all over the world. It is important that we, who are able, support their work and efforts. It is our hope that our donation will help make a difference for children in need”, says President and CEO of Lars Larsen Group, Jesper Lund.

As part of this year's theme, JYSK and Lars Larsen Group joined forces with DanskHåndbold and Danmarks Indsamling to create an event called ”Scor måål-tider” (score goals to donate meals).

Every time Danish children scored a goal in a handball match in the weekend of 27-28 January, JYSK and Lars Larsen Group would donate 15 meals to starving children in Kenya.

In the 1,687 matches played a total of 58,925 goals were scored, which equaled DKK 2 million.
