SOFACOMPANY significantly increases earnings and continues expansion in Europe

The Danish design company SOFACOMPANY more than doubled its operating profit in the latest financial year. At the same time, growth continues in its core European business, with eight new stores opened during the year and a further 8-10 planned for the coming financial year.

SOFACOMPANY’s annual financial report for 2025/26 shows revenue of DKK 504 million and an operating profit (EBITDA) of DKK 27.8 million, compared to revenue of DKK 541 million and an operating profit of DKK 12.5 million in the previous year.

The development in total revenue is primarily attributable to SOFACOMPANY’s strategic decision to phase out its sales activities in the US market and instead focus the company’s resources on strengthening and further developing its core European business.

Stronger core business and significantly improved earnings

In recent years, SOFACOMPANY has developed a clear strategic focus on direct sales to end customers through its own stores and webshops. This development continued in 2025/26, and despite continued challenging market conditions, the company generated growth in its core European B2C business.

“Consumer confidence remains low across large parts of Europe, and the furniture market is generally challenging. We are therefore very pleased that we continue to generate growth in our core business while also having significantly improved our operating profit. This demonstrates that our business model is becoming stronger,” says Henrik Andersen, CEO of SOFACOMPANY.

Operating profit thus increased from DKK 12.5 million to DKK 27.8 million in one year.

Eight new stores and more on the way

SOFACOMPANY continues to expand its presence in Europe. During the financial year, the company opened eight new stores across European markets.

The expansion will continue in the new financial year, with SOFACOMPANY expecting to open a further 8-10 new stores. The first of these opened in Roskilde at the beginning of September, becoming the company’s seventh store in Denmark and its 43rd in Europe.

“Our stores are playing an increasingly important role in the development of our business. The combination of our own physical stores and webshops strengthens our presence, and we can see that customers are responding well to our concept across markets. We are therefore continuing our expansion,” says Henrik Andersen.

He also points out that SOFACOMPANY’s positioning is particularly relevant in the current market:

“In a market characterised by cautious consumers, value for money becomes even more important. SOFACOMPANY’s ambition remains to make high-quality Danish design accessible to more consumers through fixed, competitive prices, and we find that this message resonates strongly with our customers.”

High customer satisfaction across Europe

At the same time, SOFACOMPANY maintained a high level of service throughout its growth and expansion. Across its European markets, the company’s Trustpilot score stands at 4.7-4.8 out of 5 stars, based on more than 30,000 customer reviews.

“We have significantly improved our earnings and opened eight new stores while maintaining high customer satisfaction across Europe. This is largely due to the great effort our employees put in every single day. I am proud of this, and I would like to thank all our colleagues for their commitment,” concludes Henrik Andersen.
